My background in journalism and communications developed my interest in social policy and the forces that shape it. I worked as a news reporter for Third Sector, covering government’s relationship with the sector and the ways in which charities, NGOs and community groups communicate. I also wrote a weekly column that studied a different campaign technique each week.

I also worked as a desk reporter for The Independent, and wrote features about schools for their Education section.

I’ve written for The Observer, Inside Housing and Community Care, and I’ve done campaigning and editorial contract work for Charity Bank, Christian Aid, War on Want, Great Ormond Street and WSPA.

I have an MSc in Social Policy Research from London School of Economics, a BA in Philosophy and Politics from Leeds University and the NCTJ diploma in Newspaper Journalism.
